About Mindful Eye
Helping parents see what's really happening in their child's school.
Mindful Eye is an independent resource for parents who want to stay aware, engaged, and informed about their children's education. We combine school data, documented incidents, and plain-language reporting so families can make decisions with clear eyes, not marketing copy.
Our mission
We believe parents, not institutions, hold the final say over how their children are raised, and that they can only exercise that responsibility when they have honest information. Too much of what schools tell parents is filtered through public relations. Our job is to give you the underlying facts, sourced and in context, and to trust you to draw your own conclusions.

Read the blogOur editorial standards
Trust is something we earn one article at a time. These are the rules every Mindful Eye contributor writes by.
Accuracy is non-negotiable
Every name, date, quote, document, dollar figure, and statistic is verified before we publish. We do not present vibes as fact.
We show our sources
Claims are backed by primary documents, public records, and named reporting, cited in line so you can check our work yourself.
We aim up, never down
Our scrutiny is pointed at institutions, officials, and the powerful, never at a vulnerable child or an ordinary parent in the story.
We correct the record
When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. Getting it right matters more to us than being first.
Who writes for us
Mindful Eye's contributors bring distinct backgrounds and beats. Every article is published under a real byline, with a bio you can read in full.

Reid M. Turner
Culture and Power Columnist
Following the money, the power, and the talking points behind what your kids get taught, on one suspicion the experts cannot stand: the people in charge are not telling parents the whole truth.

Bridget Hill
Culture and Classroom Columnist
Calling out what the culture slips into your kid's classroom while it tells you to relax, on one rule: mom and dad were never the problem.

David Whitlock
Parental Rights Columnist
Reading the fine print your child's school hopes you skip, on one stubborn conviction: parents, not institutions, hold the final say over their own kids.

Dyson Wu
Education and Incentives Columnist
Examining the stories schools tell, the incentives behind them, and the consequences parents and students are expected to ignore.

Tabby Parker
Faith and Family Columnist
Helping parents raise their kids on purpose, in a culture that would rather do it for them, sure of one thing: a child belongs to her family and to God, never to an institution.
